FAQ

Headache questions answered.

What patients usually ask about dental headache evaluation.

  • How are headaches related to my teeth?
The trigeminal nerve serves both your jaw muscles and your head. Clenching, grinding, or airway issues during sleep can trigger headaches via the same nerve pathway. It's surprisingly common.
  • Will Botox help?
Therapeutic Botox into the masseter (jaw) muscles is often very effective for tension headaches caused by clenching. We assess case by case and explain the tradeoffs.
  • Will insurance cover headache care?
Depends on the cause. Botox for documented bruxism can be medically covered. TMJ-related care sits between dental and medical. We navigate both.
  • What if it's not dental?
We'll tell you. If your headaches don't have a dental driver, we'll refer you to neurology, ENT, or PT depending on what we find.
  • How long until I feel better?
Most patients feel meaningful relief within 4 to 8 weeks of starting the right treatment. Full resolution usually takes 3 to 6 months.
