What patients ask before booking the comprehensive exam.

Is this different from a regular dental exam?
Yes. Significantly. A standard exam looks at teeth and gums. A bite + muscle eval looks at the entire jaw system: joint, muscles, bite relationship, airway, and posture. It's a different skill set. -
What does it cost?
Currently $295. Includes the 60-minute eval, all imaging, and the written findings document. Insurance occasionally covers it. -
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. If a referring physician or PT sent you, we'll loop them in. -
Will you make me a nightguard?
Only if it's the right treatment. Most patients need either a specifically designed TMJ appliance, an airway appliance, or therapeutic Botox. Not a stock nightguard. -
Can I just bring my old nightguard?
Yes. Bring it. Often we can tell from the wear pattern what your bite is actually doing during sleep. Useful diagnostic info.
