YOUR CHILD IS BEING REFERRED TO
Better sleep. Healthy growth.
A child who snores isn't always resting. Your child's provider referred you to Dr. Mike Bennett, DDS, PhD, Board-Certified in Craniofacial Pain and Craniofacial Sleep Medicine, with 27+ years focused on children's sleep, airway, and healthy growth.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR CHILD
Beyond tiredness, how they breathe, sleep, and grow.
Your child's provider is referring you to a dentist who focuses on how kids breathe, sleep, and grow. In children, disrupted sleep and airway issues often show up as more than tiredness, they can affect mood, focus, behavior, and how the face and jaws develop. Dr. Bennett evaluates the airway, jaw, and bite together to find what's really going on.
DR. BENNETT MAY HELP IF YOUR CHILD
Six signs worth looking into.
Any one of these is worth an evaluation. Several together, definitely.
-
Snores, gasps, or breathes noisily at night
Loud snoring, pauses, or gasping isn't just "cute", it's a signal.
-
Breathes through the mouth, day or night
Mouth breathing changes how the face and jaws develop and dries the gums.
-
Sleeps restlessly or wakes often
Restless kicking, tossing, or waking are common with untreated sleep-disordered breathing.
-
Grinds their teeth or wets the bed
Both are strongly linked to airway issues in children, not just "phases."
-
Has crowded teeth or a narrow palate
Crowding often means the arch didn't grow wide enough, an airway pattern.
-
Seems tired, unfocused, or irritable
Kids don't get sleepy the way adults do, they get "wired." Focus, mood, and behavior are often the tell.

In plain language. You'll leave the visit knowing what we found, why it matters, and what the options are.
-
STEP 03
Guide healthy growth.
Airway-focused and expansion orthodontics can guide healthy jaw growth and nasal breathing in children with narrow arches or sleep-disordered breathing.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Pediatric referrals, plainly answered.
What parents ask most before the first visit.
-
Is Dr. Bennett a pediatric dentist?
Dr. Bennett is a dentist who is dual board-certified in craniofacial pain and craniofacial sleep medicine, with 27+ years of experience focused on airway, sleep, and healthy growth in children. He works alongside your child's pediatric dentist and physician, not in place of them. -
Does this replace my child's regular dentist?
No. Dr. Bennett focuses specifically on airway, sleep, and jaw growth. Your child continues with their regular dentist for cleanings, cavities, and general care. -
Does insurance cover this?
The evaluation is often covered under medical (not dental) insurance because it addresses sleep-disordered breathing and craniofacial development. We help you navigate this at the visit. -
What happens at the first visit?
A full evaluation of your child's airway, jaw, and bite. We review sleep history, growth patterns, and behavior. You'll leave with a clear picture of what's going on and what the next step is. -
Will my child need braces?
Not always. Expansion appliances or growth guidance may be enough, and they work best when caught early. Traditional braces come later, if at all.
