Dental Implants in Provo, UT

Replace one tooth, several teeth, or a full arch with implants planned on a 3D scan and placed and restored in the same Provo office. Dr. David Smith handles both the surgery and the final teeth, so there is no hand-off between offices, and you get a written plan and cost before anything starts.

Is an Implant Right for You?

Most healthy adults who are missing one or more teeth can have implants. At the consult we look at your bone on a 3D cone-beam scan, check your gum health, review your medical history, and look at how your bite works. If the bone is too thin, we can often build it up first. You leave knowing whether implants fit your situation and what the other options are, including a bridge, a partial, or doing nothing for now.

Single-Tooth Implants

One missing tooth is replaced with a titanium post that sits in the jawbone and a porcelain crown on top. It feels and works like your own tooth, and the teeth next to it do not need to be filed down.

Implant-Supported Bridges

When three or four teeth in a row are missing, two implants can hold a bridge that replaces all of them. That means fewer implants and fewer procedures than replacing each tooth one by one.

Full-Arch Implants (All-on-X)

A full upper or lower set of teeth is attached to 4 to 6 implants and stays in place. You may hear it called All-on-4; All-on-X is the broader name, because the number of implants depends on your bone. When the bone allows, a full arch can sometimes be placed the same day.

Implant-Retained Dentures

If you already wear a denture that slips, 2 to 4 implants can hold it firmly in place. The denture snaps onto the implants, stays put when you eat and talk, and still comes out for cleaning.

Bone Grafting When Needed

If the ridge of bone is too thin to hold an implant, we build it up first. It adds a step and some healing time, but it protects the long-term result. We plan for it at the start, not in the middle of treatment.

Planned in 3D, Done in One Office

A 3D cone-beam scan shows the bone, nerves, and sinuses, and we use it to plan where each implant goes. When it helps, a surgical guide made from that plan is used during placement. The final crown or teeth are designed first, so the implant is placed where the final tooth needs it.

Comfort and Sedation

Implants are placed with local anesthetic, so most people feel pressure rather than pain. If you are nervous, nitrous oxide, oral sedation, or IV sedation is available, with your vital signs watched the whole time. Most patients take ibuprofen for a day or two afterward.

Caring for Your Implants

Brush twice a day, clean between your teeth and around the implants every day, and keep your regular cleanings and exams. Implants do not get cavities, but the gums and bone around them still need care.

THE PROCESS

The Advanced Dental Care implant process.

Most single implants take about 3 to 6 months from placement to the final crown. Bone grafting adds healing time. You see your timeline in writing before you start.

  1. STEP 01

    Consult and 3D scan.

A full exam and a 3D cone-beam scan of your bone. The doctor explains your options in everyday words.

  2. STEP 02

    Written plan and cost.

You get a written plan with the cost and timeline. Nothing starts until you approve it.

  3. STEP 03

    Bone grafting, if needed.

If the bone is too thin, we build it up first and let it heal.

  4. STEP 04

    Implant placement.

The implant is placed in one visit with local anesthetic, or with sedation if you prefer.

  5. STEP 05

    Healing and final teeth.

The implant bonds with the bone over a few months. Then the same doctor attaches your crown, bridge, or full arch.

FAQ

Dental implants, answered.

The questions patients ask most before their implant consult.

  • Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Most healthy adults are. We check your bone on a 3D scan, your gum health, your bite, and your medical history at the consult. If the bone is thin, we can often build it up first.
  • How long does the whole process take?
For most single implants, about 3 to 6 months from placement to the final crown, because the implant needs time to bond with the bone. Bone grafting adds time. A full arch can sometimes be placed the same day when the bone allows.
  • Does getting an implant hurt?
The procedure is done with local anesthetic, so you feel pressure, not pain. Most patients take ibuprofen for a day or two afterward. Nitrous, oral, and IV sedation are available if you are nervous.
  • How much does a dental implant cost in Provo?
A single implant at Advanced Dental Care typically runs $3,500 to $5,500 all-in, which includes the post, the connector, and the crown. Full-arch treatment varies widely with the number of implants and the type of teeth. You get the exact number in writing at the consult.
  • Does insurance cover implants?
Some dental and medical plans cover part of the cost. We are out-of-network with dental plans, and we file the claim for you. We check your benefits before you commit. CareCredit financing and in-house payment options are also available. How insurance and payment work.
  • What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-X?
Both attach a full arch of teeth to a small number of implants. All-on-4 uses four implants. All-on-X is the broader term, because some people need 5 or 6 implants depending on their bone. We plan the number from your 3D scan.
  • Can I get new teeth in one day?
Sometimes. When the bone allows, a full arch can be placed the same day. Whether that works for you depends on your 3D scan and exam.
  • I already wear dentures. Can implants help?
Yes. Two to four implants can hold your denture firmly so it stops slipping, or a full arch can be fixed in place on 4 to 6 implants. We compare both at the consult.
  • Who places and restores the implants?
Dr. David Smith handles both the surgery and the final crown, bridge, or arch in the same office, so there is no hand-off between practices.
  • How long do dental implants last?
Implants are meant to be a long-term solution. How long they last depends on home care, regular cleanings, and your overall health. The crown or teeth attached to the implant may need repair or replacement over time.
